It’s All in the Dash!
The dash on the tombstone represents the time from your birth to the date of your death. What do you want your dash to consist of? It matters not what we own or have (i.e. cars, houses, cash, etc.). It really is about how we live and love, and share ourselves with others that is of the utmost importance. (For God says… ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH’ and ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’)
So when your eulogy is being read, would you be pleased about what was said? But even more importantly…would God be? Would it contain a great testimony about a person who honored and glorified the LORD often? Would people remember you as “a man/woman after God’s own heart,” someone that has fought the good fight, who finished the race strong, obviously loved others and zealously kept the faith?
Make the most of your extremely short visit on Earth. When the “dash” is reviewed at your funeral, make it one that will be eternally well worthy of a “Well done, good and faithful servant!,” with the people left behind knowing and rejoicing for it!
