Encouraging Truths Devotional Series (Day #3)
Result of you ‘Believing’ from the Book of John
The word ‘believe’ in John teaches a lot of spiritual truths about you and the blessings you have in Jesus. Take John 1:12 for example:
But to all who did receive Him, He gave them the right to be children of God, to those who believe in His name. (Jn 1:12)
Because you ‘believed,’ you were given the right to become a child of God.
The points below were derived the same way through the ‘believe’ statements in the book of John. Slowly read through them and let them marinate in your heart and mind.
– You have the right to become a child of God (Jn 1:12)
But to all who did receive Him, He gave them the right to be children of God, to those who believe in His name … (Jn 1:12)
– You have eternal life (Jn 3:15-16; 3:36; 5:24; 6:40; 6:47)
…so that everyone who believes in Him will have eternal life. “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” (Jn 3:15-16)
I assure you: Anyone who believes has eternal life. (Jn 6:47)
– You are not condemned (Jn 3:18)
Anyone who believes in Him is not condemned … (Jn 3:18)
– God’s wrath has been removed from you (Jn 3:36)
The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who refuses to believe in the Son will not see life; instead, the wrath of God remains on him. (Jn 3:36)
– You are not under judgment and have passed from death to life (Jn 5:24)
“I assure you: Anyone who hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come under judgment but has passed from death to life.” (Jn 5:24)
– You have His Word living in you (Jn 5:38)
You don’t have His word living in you, because you don’t believe the One He sent. (Jn 5:38)
– You will never be hungry or thirsty (Jn 6:35)
“No one who comes to Me will ever be hungry, and no one who believes in Me will ever be thirsty again.” (Jn 6:35)
– You will never be cast away from God (Jn 6:37)
Everyone the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will never cast out. (Jn 6:37)
– You will be raised up on the last day (Jn 6:40)
For this is the will of My Father: that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. (Jn 6:40)
– You received the Holy Spirit and have streams of living water in you (Jn 7:38-39)
“The one who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, will have streams of living water flow from deep within him.” He said this about the Spirit. Those who believed in Jesus were going to receive the Spirit, for the Spirit had not yet been received because Jesus had not yet been glorified. (Jn 7:38-39)
– You will not die in sin (Jn 8:24)
Therefore I told you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins. (Jn 8:24)
– You will never die (Jn 11:26)
Everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die—ever. (Jn 11:26)
– You will see the glory of God (Jn 11:40)
Didn’t I tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God? (Jn 11:40)
– You now believe in the Father (Jn 12:44)
The one who believes in Me believes not in Me, but in Him who sent Me. (Jn 12:44)
– You are not in darkness (Jn 12:46)
And the one who sees Me sees Him who sent Me. I have come as a light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me would not remain in darkness. (Jn 12:46)
– You will do the works that Jesus did and even more (Jn 14:12)
I assure you: The one who believes in Me will also do the works that I do. And he will do even greater works than these, because I am going to the Father. (Jn 14:12)
– You are now loved by the Father (Jn 16:27)
For the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came from God. (Jn 16:27)
– You are blessed for believing even though you do not see (Jn 20:29)
Jesus said, “Because you have seen Me, you have believed. Those who believe without seeing are blessed.” (Jn 20:29)
– You have life in His Name (Jn 20:31)
But these are written so that you may believe Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and by believing you may have life in His name. (Jn 20:31)
Highlight or make a note of anything that made a positive impact on you. Is there a verse that would be helpful to memorize?
